Is Marian Street Theatre for Young People a charity?
Marian Street Theatre for Young People (MSTYP) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing theatre education, performance opportunities and confidence-building experiences for young people across Sydney’s Upper North Shore. All funds raised are reinvested into our programs, productions and community initiatives.

What does my donation support?
Your donation helps us deliver theatre productions, drama classes, school holiday workshops, scholarships and inclusive programs for young people of all abilities. It also helps us keep participation affordable and accessible for families in our community.

Why support theatre for young people?
Theatre helps young people develop communication skills, creativity, empathy and resilience. At MSTYP, we focus on building what we call “confidence under scrutiny” — the ability to express yourself, collaborate with others and feel comfortable being seen and heard.

How does drama help children build confidence?
Drama encourages young people to speak in front of others, work as part of a team, solve problems creatively and develop self-belief. These skills extend well beyond the stage and support success in school, work and everyday life.

Does MSTYP provide scholarships?
Yes. We work with supporters and community partners to provide scholarships and financial assistance to help ensure that talented young people can participate regardless of financial circumstances.

How are donations used?
Donations help fund productions, teaching artists, costumes, sets, venue hire, accessibility initiatives, scholarships and educational programs. Every donation contributes directly to creating opportunities for young people to participate in the performing arts.

Can I make a donation in memory of someone?
Yes. Many supporters choose to make a donation in honour or memory of a loved one who valued the arts, education or community involvement. Please contact us to discuss tribute giving options.

Can businesses support MSTYP?
